Update: was denied from AMEX Blue Cash Preferred, Amex Fidelity, and Chase Freedom. All because of thin/no credit file. Was invited to apply for Capital One card. Was going to apply tonight, but received an email from AMex telling me about the Premier Rewards Gold Card.

So on a whim, I applied for it, but they had an address issue. I tried my old address, and was instantly approved! Whoop! Not sure how this happened, but joy.
