About LinkBacksProbably 80% of my grocery shopping is at King Soopers store. There is a credit card they offer that gives 3 points on Kroger brands, 2 for everything else at King Soopers and 1 anywhere else I use the card. The card is free would this be something I should apply for to save money or will this be a bad move because the interest rate is high? Food costs are eating me alive these days I need ways to save.

I've heard they call the store King Stupids. Is that true?
Anyway, you shouldn't be buying groceries with a credit card on which you carry a balance. In fact, you shouldn't be buying anything on such a card. If you carry debt, move it to the lowest-interest card you can find; don't charge anything else on that card and pay it off as quickly as possible.
For you day-to-day purchases, including groceries, use a card with a rewards program that most benefits you (can't tell if that's KS card because don't know about your other spending). And pay that card off every month by the due date without exception so you can avoid interest.
If groceries are your biggest expense, you might consider Amex Blue Cash Everyday.CARDS (and why)
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (best cash back excepting 5% cards), Fidelity Visa (spare)
Chase: Freedom (only for 5% reward categories, purchases under $10), Sapphire (not in use), Amazon Rewards (for Amazon purchases only)
CapitalOne: No Hassle Rewards (no foreign transaction fee, my only MasterCard, not in use)
Amex: Blue Cash Everyday (not in use)
Discover: More (only for 5% reward categories)

Except that AmEx is stupid in their classification on groceries. They classify the grocery stores I go to as superstores so they don't have to give the bonus. Since King Soopers is a division of Kroger I have a feeling it will be classified as a superstore just like my Fred Meyer is (Another Kroger division).

Amex correctly classified both HEB and Kroger as supermarkets for me. They even counted the Kroger gas station as a supermarket purchase.

DarrellEW.....Or anyone else......Not to do with King Soopers but a related question, but do you know if I buy Groceries at a Kroger Marketplace if that is categorized as a Supermarket or Superstore with American Express? It makes sense to me that the Fred Meyer inside the marketplace would be categorized as a superstore but I am wondering about the grocery checkout lines for purchases in a Kroger Marketplace. Is the Kroger you have used to get supermarket points a Kroger Marketplace?
