Default mercedes benz visa credit card review?????

mercedes bez visa review anyone?

it gives 1 pt for general purchases and 5 pts for spending at mercedes dealerships

first of all i hate mercedes anyway so lets just get that out of the way right now. it's a car people drive so they can try and boost their self-esteem so it's not that i would ever buy one but i wonder if you had this card and you had a high credit limit, could you go to a dealer and buy a mercedes benz using the card and then get 5% in reward for the purchase? if someone spent 50k or 100k on a mercedes that is knocking $2500 or $5000 of the price right off the bat.

this wouldn't be easy i'm sure to build up a credit limit that high with that card (would take years and years) and that's if their credit limits even go that high. but let's say you were one of the luck 0.01% that would be able to get a high 50k or 100k limit with them right away if they offer it. that seems like a good deal knocking 5% off the price of their cars.

I checked out the card's website for the Mercedes Visa and it didn't say much in the fine print other than "no limit on rewards" so I take that as meaning if you had a card with a high enough credit limit you could do it.

The GM credit card may be a better idea though because it gives 3% on all purchases when used for the purchase of a new GM car. That means you would not only be getting 3% on a car if you put it on the credit card but also 3% towards the car for every other purchase. This sounds like a better deal unless the only thing you plan on charging to your card is cars.

If there truly is no limit on the 5 points per dollar at Mercedes dealers this would be a good idea if you planned on buying one of their cards. Too bad a Benz isn't my style....
