Default When do credit card rewards show up?

Friends, Pardon me if this has already been asked. I am not good with computers.
I have been waiting since July 30, 2010 for a four dollar credit to my TD bank Checking account from VISA rewards (2000 points redeemed). I have emailed them (Visa rewards) at least 5 times, I have called them (Visa Rewards) 4 times & still did not get the reward. The last few times I called I was told that this would be escalated and I would get a call back. (I never got any call backs). I don't want to change banks, but I will if I have to. I have also called TD and of course they told me to contact VISA rewards. I was then put in contact with a supervisor who told me this was resolved. At that point I disagreed and she told me I would be called back in 7 to 10 days.(that was 2 weeks ago) Do you have any advice for me? Thanks so much, Joe Maley.
PS. at one point I was on the phone w/TD and Visa rewards, and they verified that there was no 4 dollar credit in my TD Bank checking account (about 2 months ago). Thanks in advance Josea

Assuming the reward is overdue -- that there was not a six-month waiting period or something else like that specified -- then I would file a complaint online with the Better Business Bureau. It's very easy to do. Just google the BBB. Also consider filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, also online.

Four bucks is nothing, but I understand the principle of the thing, and that's worth fighting for. If they ran some sort of promotion thinking that they'd drag out the payoff until people forgot/lost interest, then they deserve the headache you can give them with the BBB and FTC.

I've actually complained to FTC once, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is actually the one you want to complain to about bank's checking accounts. FTC controls trading stuff and will simply respond to a complaint about a bank with "we are forwarding this to OCC".

I wouldn't do any of that though. Seriously? Four dollars? Save your energy for the bigger fights that actually count. Close the TD trade and go somewhere else. Assuming that it is 1 point per dollar, then a $4 reward for $2000 comes out to 0.2%, which is a truly pathetic return (the offense is meant for TD, not you). Plenty of cards out there that give a flat 1% for all purchases with no annual fee or do tiered spending (0.5% for the first $6,000 annually, and 5% afterwards or something like that--see Amex blue cash).

Thanks so much for the replies, When I initially submitted the request, I got the standard email that said I must wait 6 to 8 weeks. In the past it normally took less than 1 week (I did this 7 other times w/o incident). What really bothers me is they tired to talk me into a different reward the last time I called. (at this point i have over 8000 points but am hesitant to redeem them until I get this minuscule reward. (it is the principle Jeffsdad). IF I ever get it I am changing banks!! Happy Holidays to All, Josea

Like monthly rewards should show up within the month after the billing cycle. The promotional offers have taken 2-3 months for me.

Thanks for the response Cucumber, I stopped at TD last Friday (Dec. 3), a CS rep got on the phone with someone from the rewards program. She was told the $4 was sent on Nov 20 to TD bank. I was told TD would follow up on this, still waiting. BTW I failed to point out in my initial post that this is a Debit only card. I have no credit history & have not been able to get a credit card the few time I have applied for one.

I finally got the reward of $4 after nearly 7 month wait. I had to call Customer service and ask for a super. who hooked me up within 30 seconds.

There was one time I had a new account bonus never show up. I eventually filed a complaint with the BBB and that is how I collected it. The creditor was useless in trying to make things right with me.
