Default HP rewards through Capital One

I just got my capital one credit card and it offers rewards for when I spend. They also have a link to online retails. I want to buy a computer from HP.com and the computer cost around $1600. Capital One only gave me $500 in credit, so I can't use my capital one card to buy the product. What I wanted to know is if I click the link from the capital one rewards page for the hp.com website and buy the computer with a different credit card would I get my reward points with capital one still or do they only allow using the capital one card. Even if I used their link portal.

I try calling capital one to find if this was allowed but it keep saying to call later.

I don't use Capital One but my guess would be that you have to pay with your Capital One credit card. Discover and Citi have similar programs and you have to pay with your card in order to reap the extra rewards.

It says that when you call customer service?

Even if your limit was $1600 that's a no no! Don't wanna go past 25% of your credit limit bec it can hurt your score.

I don't mean to go off topic but I have had a few HP printers and their prices for cartridges are very expensive. I would not recommend buying one of their printers.
