I suppose, though honestly with that level of spend, I might choose to give him the points anyway to keep him happy. Sometimes giving a little to the customer can reap some nice profits. Corporate America sometimes seems to forget that the customer has other choices in most cases (not talking about monopolies here such as power, cable, etc) or the more radical ones can simply live without them.
In all fairness, I was told by 2 different Amex reps that my BCP qualified for the sign up bonus. However, come to find out it did not. Travis on here was a big help and even got me a consolation for that. Prior to that, I felt like this guy - that they promised me something and didn't deliver (which their reps did...). That could well be what is going on. I do feel like I should mention the great job Travis did.
