I was checking for a room for July 4th in Pittsburgh at the Hyatt House. Room rate is $209 plus tax for the night. If I used 8,000 points to pay for the room (it's a category 2 hotel) they are worth 2.9 cents each. If I do the cash & points ($55 cash plus 4,000 points) the redeemed points are worth 3.85 cents each. Seems as if the cash & points makes the points worth more than using all points. Again, I'm basing the points from credit card spend and at 1 point per dollar because I have no idea how many of my points are from double point categories. I'd say 3.85 cents per dollar spent back (7.7 cents at restaurants!) isn't bad at all. So, I'd guess UR points would go further than MR points. Granted, I don't have the CSP card. I use my Hyatt card.
