Chase Sapphire Preferred Downgrade Question

Postby Othellosfall » Tue Jan 14, 2014 7:04 am

I would like to know how to downgrade correctly.
Should you apply to get a Chase Freedom about a month or two before the year is over ?
Are you eligible for the freedom sign up rewards if any?
Do you still get the 7% bonus from the Chase Sapphire?
How do you downgrade to a Chase Freedom and keep your Ultimate Rewards?

Thank you for any help.

Not if you're doing a PC.

If you want the bonus you must do a new app, not a PC. Then you would close the CSP card.

If you keep the card until the dividend hits. Otherwise, no.

The points stay in your account; you don't forfeit them.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).
