Marriott incentive thru their website

Postby WS6R6 » Mon Dec 23, 2013 5:00 pm

For anyone wanting the Chase Marriott Rewards Premier card:

There is a 70,000 point sign-up bonus offer on the Marriott website once you create and sign into your account! (don't use the 50k offer on the Chase website)

I applied yesterday and was instantly approved for mine with the 50,000 point bonus offer through Chase with my highest CL yet on 30k income. I was instantly upset seeing a 70,000 point offer on the Marriott website now and today called Chase to see if I could get that instead. It was my fault for not looking around (but the 70k offer only seems to be available on the Marriott website as I didn't see it elsewhere) and Chase still took care of me. They've sent the request to marketing and said it should get approved. Chase has been the best to me with little things like this (also all 3 people I talked to were American) and that is one reason why I will continue to use their CSP daily.

Card has an $85 annual fee.

My reasons for signing up:

1) Free hotel each year which cancels out the annual fee and then some (already a no brainer, although this is only good for the first 6 months every year so with my December application I can use this free hotel December through May but that shouldn't be an issue)

2) 70,000 point sign-up bonus means if you stay in the category 1 Marriott hotels that could be up to 10 free nights the first year without expiration (4-5 free nights for category 3 or so)

3) Card is metal

If you like staying in these hotels I don't see a single reason NOT to sign up for this card. It will probably save me over $500 this year alone. I hope this helps someone who's thinking about applying.

Chase is overnighting my card as well :D

Just applied through the hotel site after making a Marriott account. Holy ****! Chase approved me instantly for a 12k credit limit!! This is my fourth Chase card and I have another 11.5k of credit spread out over my CSP, Freedom, and IHG Priority Rewards cards. They were really generous, this is my highest limit card now (used to be 9k a few mins ago) and the most collective credit I have from a single bank. The rewards are killer for only 1k spending across three months, and for me its worth keeping for the anniversary night.

Thanks for the info, WS6R6!

Yeah that is over now.. What do you think is better this or CSP? Im really leaning towards the Marriott card. We spend about 30k a year. Thanks. :money:

Most of the hotel booking comes up to less than $.01/point so I will only use the Marriott card for Marriott stays to get 5x the points. Everywhere else the CSP is still my main card because the rewards redemption is much better.

It sucks to hear that sign up offer is gone, it was among of the best I've ever seen so I had to share it :D

I see they have a 60k offer now plus 1 free night. Do you mean transfering rewards to Chase's UR points?

I just got off the phone with Chase. You can not transfer Marriott Points to different Ultimate Rewards accounts. The Points are stuck to Marriott points. Im still thinking about getting this and an AMERICAN EXPRESS BLUE CASH PREFERRED.
