Amazon CC Instant $50 Off Promo

Postby swipe_masta » Sat Jun 29, 2013 12:56 pm

This promo is like Bigfoot. I was shopping on Amazon and saw the banner for the cc, nothing new. But then instead of the regular $30 off, it was $50 and the card was white (the Visa with $30 off promo is blue and just the store card is silver). Has anyone seen this? I saved my shopping cart and closed out, but now I can't find that promo anymore! By no means is the Amazon cc a stellar card and I fully plan to cancel it as soon as I get it, but I want that $$.

It's actually a decent card if you don't have a rotating category in gas or restaurants. It's also decent if you don't have a card with 2 or 3% on gas/restaurants like the BCE or BCP. I tend to pay mine in full because of the high APR. It comes in a Visa signature version with a 14.74% APR, which isn't horrible for a rewards card.

Also, I got the 7-10 days notice when I applied and when I was approved I got a $60 gift card credited to my Amazon account.
Scores on the mend...
FICO: 654 (7/2017, AMEX), Vantage: 663 (CK)
Cards I Use Amex Premier Rewards Gold, Discover IT, Capital One QuickSilver MC, Amex Gold Delta (for the free bag)
Sock Drawer Chase Amazon, AE Visa, CareCredit, several store cards for util padding
Next Card Amex Everyday

I got the $50 promo off when I bought a TV from Amazon several months ago. My card is blue. It's the Visa Signature version, so I'm not sure if that's the difference between the $30 or $50 promo or not. I don't even use the card anymore because shortly after I got the Sallie Mae Mastercard (it's from Barclays) and it gives 5% for Gas/Groceries up to $250 per statement (just enough for me, rarely do I go over) and 5% on "bookstores" up to $750 per statement. Amazon purchases qualify as a bookstore (for now at least). I'm not sure if the $50 was worth the extra account anymore.
Amex Blue Cash Everyday - $12,000
Capital One Quicksilver - $10,000
Discover IT - $7,500
Chase Freedom - $6,900
Chase Amazon - $5,000
Sallie Mae - $5,000
Barclay NFL - $3,000
Sears - $2,001
Kohl's - $900

FICO - 817 (10/2016)
