Which shopping portal do you use/prefer?

Postby swipe_masta » Wed May 22, 2013 1:26 pm

I found the best shopping portal to be Capital One. My Venture gets me two points for every dollar plus depending on which brand I'm shopping for I get bonus points. I shop at Vitamin Shoppe and Urban Outfitters a lot and get 2pts/$1 and an additional 10pts/$1 at Vitamin Shoppe and a whopping 15pts/$1 at Urban! Some brands even go as high as 20pts!
I looked at Chase's UR Mall and the bonus points are not exciting at all. For travel rewards it could be useful. It sucks that Amex no longer has theirs. So which do you shop with or prefer?

I have been using Ebates to earn cash back from the site on top of the cash back from my credit card. BOA's Add It Up or Discover's Shopping Mall is pretty good too.
Groceries:AMEX Blue Cash Preferred 6%, 20K
AMEX Blue Everyday 3%, 20K
Restaurant: US Bank Cash Plus 5% (Rotating), 14K
Chase Amazon.com Rewards 2%, 5.8K
Gas: PenFed Cash Reward, 16k
BOA Platinum Visa Reward 5% (Rotating), $10K
Discover IT 5% (Rotating), 6.7K
Hotel: Chase Marriott Premium Rewards, 21K
Everything Else: BOA Travel Rewards 1.5%, 15K
Just to earn $100/year: BOA Better Balance, 10K

I have only used the chase UR mall for some backcountry purchases at an extra 6pts/$ which was nice and I got the extra points without any problem. From what ive read and seen, the discover mall seems to be very good and the rewards are often higher than that is offered in the chase UR mall
(01/10) - Wells Fargo VISA Platinum
(05/10) - Techron Advantage
(10/12) - Amex BCE
(02/13) - Chase Freedom VISA
(09/13) - Discover It
(03/14) - Sallie Mae WMC
(09/15) - Citi Double Cash WEMC
(09/16) - US Bank Cash+ VISA Signature

I use Discover and the UR mall. I've used the BofA mall once. The BofA site is cumbersome and not user friendly.

Discover is the best, and it's not even close. The UR mall is second in my book. I haven't used the Citi mall yet.

BofA sucks! Their rewards redemption also sucks too! 3,500 points for a $25 gift card? that's an extra 1000 points than any other!

I don't have a Discover card...yet, but am curious about how their shopping portal works...

The Discover mall is very user friendly and easy to use, and has the best cash back most of the time compared to the others I've used. Chase UR mall is decent, Barclays reward boost or whatever they call it is alright, Citi's mall is stingy and worse than the rest. I have never tried BoA's mall, and I don't have a Cap One branded card.
