Yikes! That's a lot. I was a part of a family of five, we would do buffets. My father was in the military, so sometimes we would go to the cafeteria on base.

What do you use to defray some of those costs? Are there coupons or apps that you use?

I have the Chase Amazon rewards visa and it gives 2% back on restaurants and gas. I love that card, though the APR is pretty high. I use my Discover IT when it's 5% on restaurants.
Scores on the mend...
FICO: 650 (Discover/TU, 6/23/2016)
Cards I Use Citi Double Cash, Chase Amazon, Capital One QuickSilver
Sock Drawer Discover IT, Citi Diamond Preferred, AE Visa, QuickSilver One, Walmart CC, CareCredit, CreditOne (keeping for history for now)
Short Goal Reach 680

My wife thinks since she cooks all week on Fridays and Saturdays it's take out or eating out just getting Chinese can be $75 for takeout.

getting lunch at work during the week is like 7-8 bucks a day it adds up, it was nice knowing I was getting a 5% rebate at all times, oh well

You might still be able to product change over to the Citi Forward card if you already have a Citi credit card. A few months ago, I had PC'ed over from the Citi Dividend MC to the Citi Forward Visa.

Amex BCE: 3% grocery, 2% gas
Bank of America Better Balance Rewards MC: $25/quarter bonus
Barclaycard Rewards Visa Signature: 2% gas, groceries, utilities
Capital One Quicksilver Visa Signature: 1.5% everything
Chase Freedom Visa Signature: 5% rotating
Citi Forward Visa: 5% restaurants/fastfood, movie theaters, amazon.com
Discover It: 5% rotating
SallieMae MC: 5% Groceries, Gas, Amazon
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature: 5% electronic stores, restaurants
Sock Drawered: Chase Sapphire, Chase Amazon

I really think you should grab a Chase Sapphire or CSP since you already have the Freedom.

If I don't travel what would be the benefit of the CSP, I'm wondering it seems 2% is about the best I'm going to get with another card for restaurants. My main cards are amex and us bank cash+ adding another card and having to keep track of monthly spending for an extra % seems not worth the trouble, I have the cap one rewards, I get 1.5% I just feel so small breaking that card out. Are there any cards that give more then 2% for restaurants other then the cash+ or chase and discover when they rotate categories.

So no Citi Forward. And none of the family members are students?

Do the places you go to have giftcards? If so, and depending where the giftcards are sold, you may be able to get 5% discounts. But it is a hassle.

I don't think there is any other card that gives more than 2%. A couple of options for you:
- Buy gift cards at local grocery stores with you Blue Cash Everyday to get 3% (or switch to Blue Cash Preferred to get 6%)
- Buy gift cards from restaurant.com to get 50%
Groceries:AMEX Blue Cash Preferred 6%, 20K
AMEX Blue Everyday 3%, 20K
Restaurant: US Bank Cash Plus 5% (Rotating), 14K
Chase Amazon.com Rewards 2%, 5.8K
Gas: PenFed Cash Reward, 16k
BOA Platinum Visa Reward 5% (Rotating), $10K
Discover IT 5% (Rotating), 6.7K
Hotel: Chase Marriott Premium Rewards, 21K
Everything Else: BOA Travel Rewards 1.5%, 15K
Just to earn $100/year: BOA Better Balance, 10K
