Ok. I have decided to start making *some* purchases with a credit card solely to get rewards back from them. I generally spend about $70 a week on Gas, and $150 Between the local supermarket, Target and Walmart for groceries each week. I also have a $280 monthly cell phone bill and pay about $200 for Electricity every month and internet+cable is about $80.
Other than my mortgage and insurance bills, I really don't spend any extra money.
Based on these numbers, what would be the best fit for me? Could i get away with a business card, and which one would be best? I am really trying to build up my airline miles with Delta, points with Amtrak, and point with Hilton. I don't really care about cash back, and wouldn't mind signing up for 2 cards within the minimum spend limits if it will max my bonus rewards potential. I have excellent credit so qualifying isn't much of an issue and i really don't care what it does to my credit score since I pay cash for new cars. All items/bills that would be paid for with this card would be paid off each month since I would have the cash sitting in my bank account.
I totally understand this requires a lot of attention since you have to hit min spends, as well as remembering to pay it off each month so you don't waste money on interest.I plan to setup a "Club" account to transfer each amount i spend on the credit card, then transfer it back when i pay the CC bill, so no worries about not having money to pay the bill.
So which should I go for? Thanks in advance! Hoping to pay only tax for a flight to Kentucky in 2 or 3 years for 5 people.
