VR's may be around for a while, but they are becoming more and more "cash only"

What I think is happening is these stores are having to pay the swipe fees for people buying VR's on credit and whatever kickback they get from selling them isn't enough to cover the fee.

That I do agree with. I"m already mentally prepared to move to Visa/MC gift cards and prepaid cards if that happens.

The banks will probably be sure to make it worth it for the store to keep selling the cards. I bet folks paying cash for everything aren't loading the $500 amount that we are.

Its a great crowd GC's and VR's attract. Either you're a CC rewards junkie, dirt poor with no bank account, or laundering money.

It's a fantastic way to launder money. I bet the FBI are watching us CC rewards folks and making sure we aren't cooking blue meth with our high school science teacher.

Just a heads up for anyone that gets this card or anyone with Citi cards. On the Thank You web site it says Citi has the right to send you a 1099 on redemptions over $600 in a year. Beware of the tax man!

That's nothing. I got a 1099 from Chase for getting $200 for opening a checking account.
