Can you provide a source? I find it hard to believe that stores leave it up to the clerks to decide whether a federal law is broken.

I was told by all 3 different CSR's at different CVS's that it's a federal law during my hunt to buy VR's. I guess it can be just a made up thing by CVS to keep people from getting so many though.

I donot believe that $500 per day is the limit. If it was so, Amex Bluebird would be the first violator to allow $1000 per day deposit of Vanilla Reload. All these major companies with teams of lawyers would never do something illegal.

The law I was told is on how much you can buy in gift cards PER STORE PER DAY. The way I interpret this is that I can spend $500 on gift cards at each CVS and still not break the law.

My statement still holds true in a different context because it would be Vanilla Reload company which allows you to buy two cards at a time would be breaking the law.

Ouch. There's more out there than VR's! Don't get caught up in hunting for them and miss out on other things.

Yeah, my eyes light up when I see them, but every place I have gone to has shut me down. Are there any other suggestions to churn miles out? Does anybody know if I can just load a prepaid card with my credit card?

I have been able to buy reloads and prepaid debit cards with credit cards at CVS. The lady at the last CVS I went to mentioned that there was a lot of fraud. She punched in my drivers license number. These companies are too lazy to implement measures to stop the fraud. Instead, they just stop selling m. CVS is making all of the money.

My experience in buying Vanilla Reloads from CVS in Chicago area has been free of any issues. Almost every stores has dozen of cards stacked in the prepaid section.

I have bought 15 cards in last 3 months from 5 different stores and all my limits for 5% cash back cards are used up.

I have been using my CVS points cards as well each time when I buy VR using credit cards without any issue. At times, they ask for ID other times did not ask.

I think, my approach of calling Fraud monitoring department- Not the customer service- before I started buying these VR- seems to have helped in going through the transaction without any issue.

Now that I have used up 5% cards, using 2% cash back cards for VR is not very profitable because you get net 1.21% considering VR fee of $3.95.

That will slow down use of VR for Bluebird
