Missing out

Postby FutureBillionaire » Wed Mar 06, 2013 10:43 am

Chase doesn't have a location in my state. I really want to get a checking account and augment my earning potential with the Freedom and the CSP.

My IT card is going to get much less usage. The Freedom is giving me more bang for my buck since I can transfer the points to the CSP. Plus, I think I will use the UR mall more than shop discover. I find them both to be pretty equal, although Discover does seem to have more cash back at certain stores.

You don't earn very much with that bonus program.

Let's say you max out a quarter with Chase Freedom ($1500 spend at 5% over 20 purchases).

You get $15.00 (1% base rewards) + $60.00 (4% bonus rewards) + $2.00 (20 purchases x 10 cents per transaction) + $1.50 (10 percent of the 1% base rewards).

So you would get $3.50 extra.

I'm all about that 3.50!!!

Plus, I'm going to use the UR mall and whatnot. I think I can make it worth my while.

Has anyone been successful with signing up for Chase in a state that they don't serve?

As far as "discontinued", all I know is that they 10+10 got downgraded to an annual 10% dividend instead. Nothing else was taken away.

Active Cards:
Chase Freedom 10+10 Visa Signature ($9k Limit - 8/2012)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($10k Limit - 2/2013)
Chase Ink Plus ($7k Limit - 2/2013)
Discover IT ($9.5k Limit - 10/2012)
AMEX Zync (No Pre-set Limit - 1/2010)
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday ($20k Limit - 1/2013 - Backdate to 1/2010)

ShopDiscover is far better than Ultimate rewards. The minimum cashback on ShopDiscover is 5% which no other card can offer. Discover is the only card which offer 5% cash back at Walmart.com

Use ShopDiscover for free Walmart home delivery for order of $45 minimum or anything else can be picked up from stores for free and get 5% from Discover.

I agree that ShopDiscover is better. I will try to shop at UR if the cash back is even, because I value their points a bit more. I will always work to get the most bang for my buck.

Yeah, I don't want to turn down a free 10% bonus.
