Best card to use to buy a Dyson Vacuum

Postby CSMB » Mon Mar 04, 2013 10:36 am

Here are my options:

Sapphire (no AF version) - I can but it through lowes on my sapphire on the ultimate rewards mall and get 5 points per dollar extra (home depot is only 3 points on UR)

Discover - Wait till the April when the new 5% cashback category is running and buy it at lowes or home depot since the category is hardware stores.

Getting that many UR points for one purchase is enticing, but im asking this to make sure i dont make the wrong decision. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have a dog that sheds so I really need one of these.

I'd go with Discover and get the 10% cash back. Order online using ShopDiscover for the 5%(use in store pickup) plus the 5% from home improvement category.

I would call Discover before you do this to make sure that will count for home improvement stores.

If it does not, go with CSP.

My girlfriend has 5 dogs and has been a Dyson fan for years. She has at least three of their products including the upright vacuum as well as the smaller handheld unit. She bought one of the sharks that got a lot of advertisement and using that after using the Dyson picks up a ton of hair and dirt that the Dyson left behind. Might want to check it out and save some money coming from someone with first hand experience with both.
