"rumor"
Precisely. I checked out the application and no where does it say anything about saying "no" to being a student. It has a section that has a drop down box that asks for state, city, school.

I applied in January, which I guess is the problem. I'm not sure how I stumbled across that old link, but that's where I applied from, where it clearly states 5X points. But the Terms they sent me do say 1 point. I realize I have no recourse with them, but I was hoping they'd honor the 5X offer given that that's what was on the website where I applied from.

I got the card in December, I've been getting 5x pts still. Maybe after this month I wont be?? If so, should I cancel it?

I think if you applied for the card before they pulled the non-student card off the website, you will keep the original terms for now; it wouldn't surprise me to see Citi eventually convert all existing cards over to the new program, however.

I called to confirm the terms of my rewards program and when I asked about the Amazon gift card redemption levels, the rep went out of her way to tell me about how the point levels could change at any time, so that may be something else forthcoming....

Thanks for clarifying a little. Yea I received my forward card before they pulled the non-student ones off their website. I guess I'll have to monitor my statement to see if I am getting the rewards. (Currently I am)

Do you think they will send a letter or email notifying their card holders that they are switching over?? What are the rules on me cancelling since they technically are breaking the terms up now

It will effect your aaoa, which can effect your score. I would recommend just leaving it open. Its not hurting you.
