Chase Product Change: From Disney to Sapphire Preferred

Postby Randiesel75 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 12:10 pm

All,

My father just called his Chase Disney card number in trying to product change to the CSP. They told him he needed to apply for a new card.

Should he have called the CSP application team, or recon number, instead?

Cheers!

His card isn't just a Chase card. When credit card companies partner with an outside vendor, the relationship isn't as flexible for the card vendor as if it were just their product alone. There are probably contract stipulations between Disney and Chase on how a customer can terminate the relationship and I imagine that converting to a non-Disney product isn't allowed. There was a similar discussion I remember seeing about the Barclays Apple card and similar products.
Cards:
American Express Platinum (NPSL)
Penfed Platinum Reward Visa ($28K)
Chase Freedom Visa ($25K)
Fidelity American Express ($20K)
American Express Blue Cash Preferred ($20K)
Bank of America Cash Rewards MasterCard ($20K)
Citi Thank You Preferred Visa ($9.5K)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($7.5K)
US Bank Cash + Visa Signature ($7K)
Discover IT ($4K)
