I saw that on the direct deposit page that it has the Routing Number and Account Number, so I thought I could use that to link my bills - through ACH withdrawals - instead of sending them a check through Bluebird (which always seemed a bit sketchy to me). Anyway I linked up my Insurance payment with my Bluebird account as my "bank." It appeared to have worked! I made the payment and the next day got a confirmation that my payment went though. However, it still hadn't come out of Bluebird. Weird. So about 4-5 days later it still hadn't come out of my Bluebird account and my insurance company sent me an email saying that the payment was refused. And then they slapped on a $45 late fee, because the payment was now past due.

I'm really not liking Bluebird - it's a very limited checking account and I don't see the point of it. I'm also not liking how hard it is to find a place that will let me buy a VR with a CC. I'm happy that I only have drugstores on my Freedom card for another month. This is way too stressful.

Don't pay bills with it. Use the bill pay to send checks to someone you trust, then have them give you the money. Then you have the cash and the cash back. That way you can pay your bills as normal.

Everyone is talking about rent and mortgage and loans but the universal expense of everyone on this forum is credit card bills. What is to stop someone from using Bluebird to pay the bill for the very credit card that loaded it?
$2500 First Hawaiian Bank (6/10)
$4500 CHASE Freedom (2/13)
$3500 Citi Forward (2/13)
$2000 Discover it (2/13)
$9600 AMEX BCE (3/13)
$10000 CHASE Sapphire Preferred (7/13)
$5000 CHASE Ink Plus (8/13)

The catch is finding VR cards to load Bluebird.
