Bksuper wrote:^Its good because while it may have lost its best category (and not be the best card for non-cell phone bill pay) its category selection is still as good as its competitors, you get to pick what you will use and what the cards on your current portfolio don't match or beat, unlike a rotating card, and the cap is still higher than the Freedom, More, BCP, etc. You can get 5% on DS gift cards and I still don't believe the supermarket selection is much better. For you to call this card mediocre you suggest the aforementioned cards are terrible and they seem to be top tier on most discussions. Yes, if I could only have one card Id choose a 2% on everything visa over it now (which wasn't even the case before) but I still think its the best of the category rewards credit cards even after the changes. And its not a bait and switch; by the time the changes go into affect, the program will be almost a year old.

You do have your own business. Write your name in the Business Name and your social for the EIN.

Ive seen some Dep Stores with GC's to other places, but it was a very limited selection and only to restaurants.

Now that I think about it, these changes will make us use the card more if we want to earn rewards. I rarely carried this card because I put my bills on there. Now I will use it for restaurants or other random crap. They will make more money for more transactions. I'm still annoyed though.

The big question will be does Amazon count for the new Bookstore category. If it does, then this card will be pretty good. If not, it will only get used for cell phone bill.

My forward card looks better and better. I already use that for amazon. movies, restaurants, and music. This card will be for cell phones and I have no idea what else. Maybe restaurants.

How does the Forward points redemption work? When you redeem them does it work out to getting 5% cash back? I'm always unsure of points cards because the CC company can change the value of points. Also, you get 5x points on Amazon with it?

Yes, I get the 5x points at Amazon. Some gift cards are 1 to 1, many are not. Also, you can get them applied to mortgages and student loans. I'm probably going to choose that option in the future.

I think I might get my Simplicity changed over to a Forward once I get it paid off (0% APR). Can you apply it to student loans not in your name? I don't have student loans, but my wife does.
