I made 1100 bucks last year and I didn't have the best cards until August. Yes, they are worth it.

I called mastercard and essentially what they said is in the link.

Please advise any of drug stores which offer $500 Mastercard gift cards.

Get a cash + card and set your rewards for department stores. Lowe's sells a bunch of gift cards as well.

Then for Q3 2013, I'll pre-set my US Bank Cash+ to 5% at electronic stores and buy Kindle GCs (same as Amazon GCs really) at Best Buy.

I think this beats out using Citi Forward because I can buy from 3rd party Amazon merchants and ThankYou points arent 1:1 for statement credits.

Excellent strategy. I will look into that. What other cards does Best Buy sell? Also, I always feel like rewards points are best redeemed for certain gift cards, unless you have one of those programs that let you redeem points for greater value like Chase does.

I use Cash + all the time for select categories. But the topic of discussion is how to get greater than 2% discount at Sams club.
Visa is not accepted so Cash + is useless at Sams club.

Nobody sells Walmart or Sams club physical cards at discount greater than 2%. If you have got any idea, let us discuss.

I was just at Best Buy to buy Sirius Radio gift cards. From what I saw thats all they had other than their own gift cards... youre better off with Lowes for gift cards

Only thing is MC gift cards like I said. And I know you have said you don't want to buy them from the grocery store with BCP because of the cap. Did you sign up for BCP prior to November 2012? If I'm not mistaken, anyone who signed up before then, their BCP is not capped until their anniversary date.

My anniversary date isn't until August so I was under the impression it would not be capped until then. If I remember correctly, someone on these forums called and confirmed that with Amex.

Thats correct. If you need a variety of gift cards, its a good idea to take advantage of the 5% on drug stores being offered by Chase Freedom and Citi Dividend in the current quarter (Q1 2013). I'm definitely going to buy some $1-1.5k in GCs from CVS/Walgreens before end of Q1.

With the changes that are coming to the cash plus, I think I'm going to get the Freedom sooner, rather than later.
