The latest comments in the lengthy US Bank Cash+ thread reminded me of other un-enhancements to reward cards and programs I've been reading about here lately.
There's an Amex thread about some cutbacks in Platinum. I know from my own experience that the card referral bonus program, at least for BCP, has been suspended. And, of course, there's the infamous cap on BCP rewards that just came out.
USB Cash+ appears as if it is being phased out, or perhaps is only going to be offered to brick and mortar banking customers (see the thread).
Discover, on the other hand, seems to be improving the cashback program for the IT card.
What other recent changes to rewards programs have any of you noticed? Does anyone see the makings of a trend here?
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).
*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.
