23403 points earned for gas purchases using penfed visa which gives 5%
11586 points earned for grocery using pendfed visa which gives 3%
32790 points earned on restaurants using citi forward which gives 5%
22376 points earned for all other charges that don't fall into above categories using penfed visa which gives 1%

So that's 90,155 points, essentially $900. I'm going to get the Fidelity card so that I can get that extra $200 or so by getting 2% back instead of 1% on non bonus category charges.

How the hell am I suppose to hit $2000 when I only spend about $37K per year on Food, Gas, Groceries and misc expenses that can be charged and I already have the best cards just short of Fidelity and American Express Blue cash? I suppose I can get the Blue Cash and get 6% on groceries, but that's still only an extra $115. I'll have to pick up the US bank plus card to get that 5% back on insurance, cable, and phone payments as well. That another $200.

What's a good base target that doesn't include sign up bonuses?
