It's their cheapest charge card bascially. 25 bucks a year. Yeah Blue would save me 25 bucks a year, but you are right, Zync does look pretty cool!

I had the Zync, Gold and BCP but cancelled them, I should have left the Zync open. So that's why I'm going for Zync. I won't use it other than for the Credit Secure product and it is just for backdating. I don't care if they give me a 200 limit honestly. (My old one had NPSL).

Sweet. Did you ever get to the bottom of that whole mystery Platinum delinquency thing with them? Will that get in the way of you being able to get back in?

No. I tried to but was unable to find anyone who could help me. I suppose I could have called the Exec office and tried them, but I had decided at that point I no longer wanted Amex as my primary credit card company and it was time to give someone else the business I had been giving Amex. No deliquency has been reported to the CRAs and Amex even refunded my annual fee on the Zync card when I called to see about reinstating the account which they wouldn't do and suggested I re-apply instead. (Again, if I was delinquent they wouldn't be sending me money...). I don't know if they somehow confused the green card delinquency I had with them many years ago with something, or if this platinum card just was someone else's and through some weird way got linked to me, honestly. So I really don't have any facts I can tell you other than that.

Will it hurt me? I don't know, they approved me for 3 cards and left them open and in good standing as it was. But I suppose anything is possible. One way to find out.

As a result of that, and offshored customer service which honestly was not that great, Amex will never be a primary use card for me, but they do have their uses in my book and I was too quick to close all those accounts. I would change things by leaving the Zync open if I had it to do over. I would not change switching most of my business elsewhere. Discover is bound to be pretty happy as will Chase and US Bank which will become the "heavy hitter" when I get that card.

Very cool man. $12k that's a hell of a limit too. Maybe I'll try and get my hands on one after some of my CLIs reflect and cross my fingers, arms, legs, toes, and eyes that they pull TransUnion for my application lol.

It honestly shocked me when I found that out. I've never in my life had a CL over 10k, let alone to start like that. The closest I have is my Platinum Visa at 9k. But I don't use it much as it has no rewards at all. So I plan to reward US Bank as richly as possible, while keeping Chase in the mix, and Discover as well.

They pulled TU for me, so I'm guessing they would for you as well. To be honest, I'm betting what helped was the 7k and 9k cards I had as well as 3 Amexs with 13 years each reporting. You have a couple cards with multiple years, I'm guessing you can get the card. I will be pulling for you if that helps!!!

Thanks buddy, but the correct response would have been "no, you're supposed to be gardening right now and another app will kill your chances for a CSP in the 6-month-to-a-year window and I'll come to your house and beat you up if you even think about pulling that trigger." Hahaha, I kid I kid.

In all seriousness though, I'm hoping that this surge of new accounts and CLIs won't prompt one of my issuers to do something stupid like CLD me or close my account. BofA is the one I'm most worried about because I've heard of them doing stuff like that, and with my open credit lines surpassing 2/3 my annual salary not including my NPSL accounts I hope and pray that they won't do something drastic like that as it's my oldest trade and guarantees me 3% on gas when it's out of rotation from Discover or Chase.

hahaha I know man! On some other boards you'd think applying once a year made you Appbar or something. I say do what benefits you - only you can truly judge that for yourself. I don't honestly believe one inquiry for the Cash + is going to bother Chase if everything else is in order. I think your chances in 6 months to a year will be great whether you add the Cash + or don't add it I don't see it being a big deal at all either way. But I know you're kidding!

Inquiries are truly overblown. Even on your FICO after a couple of months they fall off if everything else is good in terms of hurting your score. Amex approved me with a boatload of them. But again that assumes everything else is good.

She would kill me for saying this but my fiancee and I checked our credit on CreditKarma. My only F on there was inquiries which admittedly I have a lot. The IMPORTANT stuff like ontime payments no delinquencies (Amex notwithstanding) etc were all As. But her only good grade was inquiries she had only 1 which is a B, but ontime payments was 46% an F, delinquencies were an F, etc, so you tell me, is it silly how much emphasis some put on inquiries or what? There ARE a few creditors who are very inquiry sensitive but otherwise they don't really matter as much as some seem to think they do. And they drop off with time anyway. Even the inquiry sensitive credits don't give much weight to anything past 6 months.

Ouch, 46% payment history... I'm proud to say that I haven't missed or paid late in my life, but hey I realize that everyone's situation is unique and everyone does what they gotta do. Really the main thing that's holding me back personally is my AAoA, which admittedly will take another big hit after all my new accounts report -- probably will set me back to about 1.5 years. But hey, no big deal. I took care of what I could in my power which is utilization, so I'm fine with letting the rest fall into place with time.

Well, whenever it is that I do decide to pull the trigger on that, this thread has officially convinced me to go for the Mastercard version. The World Elite logo definitely looks way cooler than the Visa Signature one.
