When BCP gets capped it will be by far the best card out there. Have you bought GC's with it and confirmed it gives you the cash back yet?

I haven't. I wonder if anyone else has. That cash back was earned mostly through bill pay.

I'm probably going to buy a cheap gift card this month to see if it works. Maybe someone else will do it first. I don't see why it wouldn't, though.

Yeah when I got it I promptly went in and singed up for Department Stores and Home Improvement Stores. I wanted to get bill pay but I forgot lol. Oh well, there's always next quarter.

I'm going to do home improvement and bill pay next quarter. I will probably do drug stores for the 2% option simply because I get points on groceries and gas with most of my other cards.

Any update on this? My understanding is the bonus is based on the base 1% only.

I talked to a US Bank rep when I applied for the Cash+ card and my understanding was it was a % bonus on any cash back you earned that month. Whether it be 1%,2%, or 5%. I do not have the checking account yet, so I can't confirm how it works for sure. I know some people on here have both the card and checking account. Hopefully one of them might be able to chime in.

For the first time I paid my auto insurance with Cash+ and it didn't qualify for 5% under the utilities/bills category. They warn you this will happen if the biller doesn't categorize itself as "insurance." My insurer is Texas Farm Bureau, so who knows what they consider themselves to be. Oh well, I just go back to paying the insurance with Fidelity Amex.

The bummer is my rewards balance is now $99.94, four cents short of the $100 needed for the $25 gift card bonus with redemption. Obviously I'll hit that next month.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

My spending on the card isn't high enough to net $100 in cash back in a single calendar year, so I'm thinking of just redeeming my rewards as statement credit monthly in smaller intervals until I graduate from school and/or start paying more of my own expenses (ie groceries instead of meal plan). This way I don't have to hassle with $25 visa gift cards sent to an address I only live at part time 8+ weeks after redemption or rewards dollars expiring and can earn interest on the reward dollars I would've substituted w./ payments. Is this a smart plan or is it worth it to wait years for a single large redemption w./ the bonus?
