You'd think they'd give you a week with the card before asking. Uh, I just got it but yeah it looks great in my wallet.

I can imagine the call:

Please rate your satisfaction with your card. If you are satisfied please say "Yes" or enter 1, if you are not satisifed please say "No" or enter 2.

Me: NO

Please stay on the line for a representative.

(funky elevator music playing the kind that soothes irritated customers)

Thank you for calling US Bank, this is Sheila may I have your name please?

Me: NAME

Thank you, and the 16 digit card number you are calling about?

Me: NUMBER

And how may I help you?

ME: Well I have a signature card which gives me a conceirge, I was hoping that you could hook me up with a couple of beautiful escorts to have a threesome with, can that be done?

I'm sorry sir, but you are not allowed to use the card for illegal activities.

ME: Oh great what fun is that then. I thought you said you'd help me with ANYTHING so excuse me for taking you so literally!

They are still robocalling. I take it they are going to continue this until I do it.

You'd think I was delinquent or something there are some bill collectors that don't call as much. Not that I'm proud to know that.....

So I just got my card from them today. Evidently when you get downgraded you actually get the Cash Rewards Visa instead of the Flex Perks like the online app says. It's a straight 1% cash back card. With a $1500 starting limit and a ridiculous 23.99% apr, I decided that it would just be a failing uphill battle trying to get that thing upgraded, so I canceled before activating. My score isn't even going down anymore from new inquiries anymore so I don't even care. May or may not try again for the Cash + down the road.

It looks like I'm in the same position they gave me a 2k limit you need 5k for the cash +, I didn't get my card yet did you call and ask if this card is upgradeable to the cash+ I'll max the sucker out for 6 months if that's what it takes to get them to upgrade me!

I didn't directly ask if it could be upgraded but the rep I spoke with didn't say otherwise when I told him that I had considered pursuing one down the line. I'd encourage you to ask directly when you call to activate it and post your findings.

What the heck? I got my card in the yesterday and it was also a Cash Rewards card instead of the Cash+. Can they really just send you a different card without speaking to you first? I think that's horrible! I got a $1500 limit at 23.99% APR. What crap. I'm really mad they didn't even consult me first.

I called them. The woman I spoke with was really nice and tried to upgrade me, but it didn't go through. She said I should speak with the people in applications, but they aren't in the office right now. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what's up. Haven't activated it yet, and I will probably cancel.

I get my card in the mail today and they approved me for a cash rewards visa with a straight 1% cash back, sadly my b of a is 1.25% and capital one is 1.5% they said if I use the card for 6 months it's upgradeable to a cash+ the limit is 2k, I can easily max it out monthly. I applied for the cash+ joint with my wife, her as the primary she has good credit hopefully that app goes through, I'm going to wait to activate the cash rewards they send me till later this week hopefully I get the cash + with my wife and can tell them to cancle the cash rewards. Is it worth me taking a half % bath on 2k a month for 6 months to build credit up with them to get the cash + card if I have to go that route, that would be $60 in cash back I would miss, but having 5% in restaurarants and bills if they always have that category would make me about $75 a month. I'm wondering if I'm crazy to even consider this, hopefully my joint app with my wife gets approved, otherwise is this even worth entertaining?????????????????

Ah, so we ended up getting the exact same result. They absolutely can do this because on the application page it states that if you can't be approved for the Cash+ you will automatically be considered for a lower level card. I thought it said Flex Perks on the website, but evidently it's the Cash Rewards card you get downgraded to as the 3 of us have reported.

I called the application number and spoke with a very nice woman. She looked over my report and said she didn't see any reason why I wouldn't have been approved. She told me to go to my local US Bank branch and speak with someone there since bankers have a better chance of overriding stuff like this. Hopefully the person I speak with there is just as nice!

Good thing there's one right near my work. Will go on my lunch break and see what happens.
