I'll apply for this card when they give 5% off grocery stores.

5% on grocery and/or gas would make this card the best of all.

I still think 5% on bill pay and restaurants is awesome though. Bill pay will earn me alot of cash back. I can't wait to get this card.

I got this card a little over a week ago, put my first charge on it last night for 13 dollars.

Got an email that I got my statement this morning so I go to log in and I'm locked out and have to call. Call them and sit on hold forever to get it straightened out then I have to re-enter all my security crap again.

Now US Bank is calling my phone every 20 minutes I can't answer it in the cube farm as I don't want half the company to hear. (It's none of anyone's business).

Do they TRY to make life a PITA or are they just that good at it? If it continues like this, this thing is getting cut and tossed and closed. Discover doesn't do things like this. You'd think I ran up 10k and wasn't paying them....I mean sheesh. If you want your 13 bucks I can pay you now but it hasn't even posted yet. What are you guys at US Bank, Amex or something nuts.....

Hey MS99. I'm sorry they're giving you grief. To my surprise, my entire registration process went very smoothly. They did give me one pointless robocall, but otherwise it's all been good. Is it possible the trouble you're having is because they're swamped with new applicants/card holders? That's not an excuse, of course, but it may help explain.

I'm reserving judgment until I see how accurate they are on rewards, etc. However, so far it's been good and I'm hoping to use this card for a long time or until something better comes along.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

I called them at lunch. It was kind of the last thing I wanted to do on my lunch but I did.

I got a CSR who could not find any record of me being called at all. She suggested maybe it was a robocall from marketing as you got and said there was nothing wrong with the card.

I guess my motto from now on is, if you don't leave a message, I'll ignore it - if it's important you'll leave a message. Sounds like a good general rule of thumb anyway.

So I take it your robocall was something like buy our protection plan in case the unexpected happens?

I'm going to apply for this and the BCP in September I think. I'm going to get the BCP first since it will be backdated and not impact my Average account age.

MS99, the robocall wasn't even marketing. It was something completely ridiculous. I think it just asked if I was satisfied with the card. I said yes and then that was it.
