Yes, sometimes they aren't.

However I don't like using debit because of fewer consumer protections.

I've always thought US Bank's credit card strategy was to offer okay rewards that were nothing special but I think I may be applying for this rather soon. Does anyone have or know any dirty secret I'm missing out on here?

Rewards Listed Here: https://cashplus.usbank.com/index.cfm/main/categories/demo/true

Something I dont like is the credit limit *may not be* reported!!!
Just keep that in mind and approach it wisely and your credit scores wont be effected so drastically

It can be iffy but if you get the name of the person you speak to you'll always have a pleasant experience
I like how they do not out source
jeffysdad wrote:Looks legit and very interesting. I didn't notice anything about caps, though, as Ratface mentioned.

No caps on Rewards
Also if you have a consumer checking account you can get some extra % on those rewards
FutureBillionaire wrote:I've had US bank and they were ok. I closed my account because they ticked me off when some money was taken from account and they took forever to return it. Their atm was robbed and my checking account was cleared out. It took them forever to give me a credit and/or return my money. They didn't offer me anything good to stay with their bank either.

I will say that I am willing to forgive all if this credit card offer is true.

Takes a while for the fraud department to investigate all the claims but if it was electronically taken from your account you may of have had the option to submit a written request for provisional credit... though it sounds like you eventually got it back anyway
FutureBillionaire wrote:I applied for a rate increase and they declined me a few months ago. I'm going to wait until September when my report looks a tad bit better. I"m at a 753 or so in all bureaus, but they wanted me to look better in a couple of areas.
they do like a strong credit history but also look at income (DTI)

As far as I know US Bank favors Equifax
Sorry mate

Look into not pulling your credit report erratically and maybe do "apporama" when you do decide to get a new card

If anyone is going to apply for this card, it appears the only sign up bonus I can find is on Facebook, which will offer a $50 sign-up bonus.

Didn't even think of looking for a sign up bonus. I wouldn't have bothered with facebook anyway (don't do fb), but I'd be mad if I had missed something else. Thanks for reminding me to look for those.

Found the June 27, 2012 press release on MarketWatch announcing the Cash+ card and lifted this from it:

"To celebrate the launch, U.S. Bank surprised the first qualified cardholder in each of the four time zones served by U.S. Bank with a $250 cash bonus added to his/her new U. S. Bank Cash+ account."

Anyone on this forum get the $250?

I believe that was only for the people that signed up on the first day,
If you Like the card on Facebook you get entered into a sweepstakes
As for the sign up bonus I say just go into a branch and let a banker run the app, there's no bonus at branch level yet but they need all the apps they can get ;)

This is not a good deal if you read everything that the original poster wrote you would understand, that this isn't any better than the cards that you and me carry.

I'm going to make sure all my accounts are at zero and wait for a few inquiries to fall off my report at the end of August. I will be patient.

This is one of the best cash back cards around. Probably top 3. The only thing I don't like is that it is only a Visa Signature.

Not a good sign but if you call a branch they maybe able to pull you up by social, Instore branches are open on some holidays so you can call tommorow or try 1800usbanks to see if a telephone banker will help
Good luck!
