For anybody who has a Chase Freedom, which category will you be using your card for
restaurants or gas stations?

If restaurants will you be using your card at fast food restaurants like Burger King and Jack in the Box? or only sit-down restaurants. Will you leave the tip on the credit card receipt, will you round off and leave the tip in cash? Example if your bill is 24.22 would you leave the .78 on the tip line and pay 25.00?

For anybody who travels on business assuming your side is paying the bill, will you be using your Chase Freedom or 1 of your other cards that you use for business?

I have a Discover More back in December because the cap was 300.00 I left the tip in cash. For the second quarter I rounded off to the nearest dollar and then left the tip in cash.

For anybody who has the Discover More, what category will you be using your card for
going to the movies or gas stations? For anybody on the road will you be using your card
at the food marts the convenience stores? I will just be using my card for gas.

That's right, there are no restrictions as long as that merchant submits the charge under the gas station merchant code. I have one near me that I learned categorizes themselves as business services for some reason, even though they're a standalone gas station. Luckily it's not one that I frequent. I will definitely be using my Discover More for gas this quarter. Added my fiance as an AU just for the occasion.

Definitely will be using mine. And no tip at fast food places. 10%-25% depending on services on regular restaurants.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

It has to be a stand alone gas station. For example if in your area there's a 7-11 which has a gas station, or a BJS, arbys etc. you won't get the 5% cash back it. has to be stations like Chevron, Texaco, Getty ,Exxon/Mobile ect.

I agree with you even if I did use my Discover card at fast food restaurants I wouldn't leave a tip. April, May and June I rounded off
and left the tip in cash on sitdown restaurants.

I wouldn't leave 25% to any restaurant. some restaurants have great views on the patio, some waiters and waitresses give free coffee
so in a situation like this I would leave a 5.00 tip in cash but I wouldn't leave 25% , I leave 15% but everybodys different.

If you go to Hooters then 25% is a good idea.

What's with the tip or no tip thing? I usually tip on the card. Is there any disadvantage for doing that?
