What is the best way to consolidate different travel reward points?

Postby FastSRT8 » Tue Apr 24, 2012 7:11 pm

Points?

I mean there are so many I get besides the Amex membership rewards that I wish there was a way to transfer them all into one system. It's these fragments that cost you because you usually have too little to make use of them so they expire and you lose out.

I'm talking about points from air miles, Aeroplan, Starwood, and various hotel properties.

Any thoughts?

You can transfer points into an Amtrak Guest Rewards account from Wyndham, Hyatt, SPG, Hilton and Hertz and from there redeem for gift cards. The conversion is not always one-to-one.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

There is a really cool website called milewise.com that tracks all they our miles for different programs, and you can search for flights, and it'll show you the cost for each program.
