Does Chase consider Trader Joe's a grocery store?

Postby jeffysdad » Fri Mar 30, 2012 6:37 am

Is TJ's considered a grocery for 5% cashback for groceries on Chase Freedom?
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

Cool. Thanks. My 'hood is supposed to get its first one later this year. Cheap wine and imported cheese just down the street past the Whole Foods. Yeah!

Lucky man. Colorado's first TJ's is opening soon, but 35 miles away from me in the People's Republic of Boulder.

To answer Jeffys Dads question I'm going to call my green card when an account mgr picks up I will have them transfer me to the Blue side and I'm going to ask this question. I have to tell you where my trader Joes is located, it's on the North side of route 17 directly across from Hooters which is on the south side of route 17,

I was just informed that Trader Joes is under the same category as Shoprite, a&P walbaums and pathmark so you get your 6% on this store.

Yes, it is for me. I assume that's universal unless I am truly as special as I think I am.
Gas: PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards (5%)
Grocery/Gift Cards: AMEX BCP (6%)
Cell & Restaurants: US Bank Cash + (5%)
Target: Target (5%)
Hotels: SPG AMEX, Marriott Rewards Premiere VISA
Everything Else: Fidelity Investment Rewards AMEX (2%)

+ Discover and Chase Freedom for 5% cash back categories
