For Papagayo, are they making you switch rooms in the middle of the day when you go from one account's renewal night to the other's?

The Hyatt is nice but the advertised 24 hour dining fails to mention that the wee hour options are less than desirable.
Warranties and sketchy merchants: Schwab Platinum
Price rewind: Costco
Travel insurance: Prestige, CSP
Perks: IHG, Hyatt
Rewards/Offers: Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE
Taxes/Misc: SPG

Limited value, might close: Arrival

Might add: First Tech, proper business card

Doubt it. I booked it all under the wife's account since she's an explorist (hoping for globalist match before trip though)

Just booked my free night. Attending a conference in NYC in October (for a personal interest of mine, so work isn't paying for it). Husband is coming along, so we're going to make a long weekend out of it.

Hotel is $450+ on Sat night and over $300 for the other nights. So used the free night for Sat and doing points + cash for the remaining nights. Darn near cleaned out my IHG balance, and I know I could probably book a cheap Airbnb, but I had an issue in the past with the plumbing malfunctioning at an Airbnb and the owner ignoring me -- and I don't want to deal with that and detract from my enjoyment of an event I've always wanted to attend. So I figure this kind if situation is exactly what rewards are for. Nice hotel in a great location that I wouldn't otherwise be able to justify.
Cards:

-Capital One Quicksilver
-Barclaycard Arrival (no AF)
- US Bank (no rewards)
-IHG

Looks nice. I haven't been there, but in 2015 I stayed at an Indigo one block east from there. For about $100 more than AAA I got a 30k bonus points rate.

It went independent from IHG a few months ago. Photos of the "new" Hotel Hayden clearly show the old decorations of the Indigo.

Fun. Know of any tricks to get Ambassador perks without paying for them?

Yeah, I got some sticker shock when I saw $400+ a night for a Holiday Inn EXPRESS, but the location is awesome -- and I'm looking forward to visiting NY and NOT staying at a)An Airbnb that isn't as advertised b)A $100/night roach hotel or c) On the floor of a friend's studio apartment next to the stove.

One of my favorite IHG properties (in St. Louis) went independent a year ago (right after I got the card), and I'm going to miss staying there.

I stayed at the HI in Eureka, MO recently (by I-44, west of St. Louis). Above-average for HI...but definitely an architectural outlier. Some sort of converted giant barn from the 1800's.

If you've stuff to do in downtown St. Louis, though, it's likely too far out of the way.

Yeah, the property I loved is in Clayton, which is where I spend most of my time in St louis. It's right by the Metrolink, low nightly rate, walkable to all the Clayton bars and restaurants. I've switched to the Holiday Inn Express in the Central West End, which is an awesome area, but the hotel is twice as far to a Metro stop and not NEARLY as safe of a walk, by far.
