Paying mortgage by credit card indirectly

Postby TXviking » Fri Nov 25, 2016 10:46 pm

Just wondering if anyone has found a way to earn credit card points/miles off their mortgage. Obviously, mortgage lenders don't generally accept credit card payments, but I ran across this:

Sounds a bit like MS, so my alarm bells are going off a bit. Also, the limits in this particular case are too low for most mortgages. But still curious if anyone has done or looked into doing something similar?

When I researched it, it looked like maybe you could break even.. maybe. Its mainly in place to cheat to get the bonus's if you can't get them with your normal spending. It looks like a real pain in the butt too. :)
Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa Infiniti $59,500
Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa Signature $47,500
American Express Blue Cash preferred. $35,500
Capital one Quick Silver Visa Signature $25,000
USAA Limitless Cashback Visa Signature $25,000
Experian 838 Transunion 833 Equifax 855

Yes it's generally about bonus chasing.

Also, that article is 16 months old. A lot has changed. Many Amex Serve accounts have been shut down.

Hence why I asked here. I was a little intrigued, but it doesn't seem worth the effort.
