You're out of the 24 month "card family window", so you should be eligible for the bonus
If I understand the rules correctly (I've had a glass of wine, and always check on FT when in doubt) it is important that you DO NOT close the Bronze card (at least until you have gotten the AA Platinum bonus). If you close Bronze too early, you might be ineligible for the Platinum bonus.
That's interesting. Why would closing it affect the bonus? Open / close activity in general?
"American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have had any Citi / AAdvantage card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage card) opened or closed
in the past 24 months. "
The loophole, apparently, is that you can have a card that's been open for more than 24 months, apply for a new card and get the bonus, then close/PC the old card.
