However, since the Marriott merger got announced I'm considering closing the account as I already have the Chase Marriott card and because the annual fee is getting ready to bill. I can justify keeping the Marriott card since I get a free hotel night each year but I don't see the long term benefit of the SPG card beyond it's points transfer feature. Thoughts?
I never really saw the appeal of the card past the first year for anything other than raw earning power on 1x categories or the little boost in earning elite status.
And faster internet, I guess. I generally don't use hotel wifi.
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May
