There are some reports, based on a photograph of an in-branch application, that other changes will be coming soon. These are much less certain than the loss of Admirals lounge access.

Dining will just be a 1x category (down from 2x)
AF may be cut to $350 for everyone, not just Citigold customers (this one is particularly iffy)
$5k minimum spend (up from $3k)
$250 airline credit will exclude base airfare (no idea if gift cards will be okay)

Well, you could apply now and still get the benefit for 11 months (until mid June). The 50k TYs are still worth $800 on AA. My renewal will be in May, with the AF actually hitting in June. I'm not totally sure what the AF refund rules are, but I'll seek some sort of retention perk if they don't replace it with something of similar value.

For me, it's just a reminder that nerfing happens, and to make the most of cards while they're at their peak.

The loss-of-access date has been delayed a month to July 23, 2017. We have just over a year remaining.

A FT member asked in-branch, and was told that the current Prestige promotion is set to expire in a few days.

By Sunday or Monday, I wouldn't be surprised if more changes come out.

I don't know what to expect, but hopefully there will be some good news. Adding AA as a transfer partner would not be nearly enough, since I can already use TYs at 1.6 cpp on AA easily.

Interesting...

Has the Prestige Sign up bonus ever gone above 50K?
CSR $24K | Discover IT $22.9K | AMEX BCE $15K | AMEX EveryDay $12.9K | Marriott Premier - $11K | Delta Platinum $10K | Freedom $6.5K | Freedom $6K | BOA Travel Rewards - $2.7K | AMEX Platinum

I've heard of 100k, but targeted.

I now see:

Earn 40,000 bonus ThankYou® Points after you spend $4,000 in purchases within 3 months of account opening. Points are redeemable for an $800 flight on American Airlines, a $532 flight on any other airline or $400 in gift cards.

Changes:
40k instead of 50k
$4k instead of $3k
2 cpp on AA vs. 1.6

It was 50k/$3k yesterday, now it's back to 40k/$4k.

There's no mention of a special rate for AA redemptions.

There's no mention of Admirals lounge access (that is, it exists, but they aren't advertising it).

The $250 credit can still apply to base fare.
