A few people say they have spoken with CSRs and that (allegedly) the favorable redemption rates for all flights...not just AA...are going away. TYs might be worth 1.25 cpp on all travel booked through Citi. Apparently there is supposed to be some official news released in two days.

So this might not just be an attack on perks, but also on a popular redemption method.
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

The recent Prestige retention offers reported on FT are not very appealing. On AA Platinum they often give a $95 credit for $95 spend. On Prestige, it's generally $200 for $12k spend ($4k for each of three months).

There are some offers for extra TY points that require less (or no) minimum spend...but nothing amazing.

Looks like a lot of people, if not all Prestige holders, may get 1000 bonus TYs due to a limited number of AF reduction notices Citi sent out in error.

I didn't get an AF reduction notice (at least not yet) but I did get an email mentioning the error for 1000 TYs.

"You may have received a letter from us notifying you of changes to your Citi Prestige® account. This letter was sent to you in error, your card terms have not changed...We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. As a courtesy, we’re adding 1,000 ThankYou® Points to your account, you’ll see these points in your account in the next 1-2 billing periods...The benefits listed in the letter—including a lower annual fee, no late fees, return check fees and a relationship bonus—are only available to cardmembers who also have a Citigold®, Citi Priority or Private Bank account."

It's become a bit of a $#**storm on MF. Everyone thinks they should get Citigold status (even those without any checking/savings/investments at Citi) just because of one error letter that was retracted by email very quickly.

I got the letter today.

I'd like CitiGold status but I'm not gonna act like a baby about nothing...
