Easy-to-use websites for partner award flights?

Postby CarefulBuilder14 » Mon May 16, 2016 12:35 pm

A lot of airlines (BA and Etihad come to mind) have attractive partner award charts, but make it a hassle to actually book partner award flights (or even search for partner flights) on their websites. You often have to call in and hope for the best. What I want to do is just casually peruse the Etihad and BA award prices for domestic AA flights in and out of LAX. But, because BA and Etihad only seem to operate international flights in and out of LAX, I'm not seeing any search results because BA and Etihad say they don't fly those domestic routes.

Can anyone suggest a foreign airline or third-party website that makes it actually easy to view partner award availability? Most of the advice I've seen elsewhere is along the lines of "call when you know exactly what you want and are ready to book"...but I really just want to quickly see my options without committing. Suggestions?
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt, Arrival
May close or PC: Prestige, BrooksBros

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech

As far as integrating with AA, I'm not sure but I've heard good things about United's Star Alliance Program being a user-friendly award transfer tool - especially with some of their alliance partners like Singapore Air. I read this review recently on the Points Guy's website: http://thepointsguy.com/2015/08/finding ... ce-awards/
