Citi AA minimum spend window weirdness

Postby CarefulBuilder14 » Tue Mar 08, 2016 6:20 pm

I got AA Platinum on 1/16/16. Three months after approval to spend $3k should give me until about 4/16/16. When I go to "View Miles Summary / Your Reward Details" on Citi.com, though, it says I have until 4/30/16 to meet the spend.

I'll have no trouble finishing off the $3k target by 4/16, but for future reference on other Citi cards, do I really have until the end of April?
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

They extend extra days to account for shipping time as they don't overnight but a few select cards.

Precisely. I was explicitly told this by Prestige customer service because I had issues with my cards arrival.
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus

Good to know. I wouldn't call it "generous" given how slowly they ship cards, but it does seem a very reasonable solution. It beats Barclaycard.
