Not completely true. The CSP or Freedom would have to be your main card. You can transfer UR points from one to the other. So You can do Like I did and get a freedom now, and use the hell out of it then later when you are ready for a big travel event pick up a CSP, and transfer all the points to it.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k

This is the Most Helpful Opinion.

I signed up for the Chase Freedom.

Well, it wasn't the most lucrative option, but it is probably the simplest.

I'd have gone for a card with a higher spending requirement. The Freedom bonus is good, but you could earn it pretty easily at any time from everyday spending. The 20k UR bonus may be worth $400 if you later get a CSP and transfer to Hyatt or an airline, but a $3.22k spike in your spending is an opportunity to get a harder-to-earn bonus.

At least you won't have to worry about closing a card later to avoid a future AF on a card you don't want to keep.

I am thinking about splitting up my 3.2k purchase via PayPal with different cards that I have.

I know $500 will go to the Freedom card to get $200 back.

Also, is there a chance that you'll need to make a return or have some other billing adjustment?

I'm not sure if that would be more complicated to do if you use multiple cards via PayPal.

If you got a decent enough limit with the freedom then you might want to consider the CSP right away. Again that 3.2k will be a lot towards the 4k, and you can easily hit $500 on the freedom with monthly spending. You basically have 3 months to make an extra $1300 in charges. Should be pretty easy.,

They gave me 16k. Why would I consider the CSP right away? I don't really wanna pay the annual fee though.

My plan is to use the 15 month 0% interest and have my money in a 1.25% CD while it collects interest while paying off like 250 a month.

We can't decide for you, but the best signup bonuses are generally on cards with annual fees. That's just the way things are.
