applying for multiple cards

Postby rbpa1255 » Tue May 12, 2015 8:21 pm

Is it better to apply for a bunch of cards on the same day so that my score wont be affected or does it not matter and still bring down my score every time i apply for a new one?

Every single application is a hard pull, but some companies like Amex will allow you to apply for multiple cards with one pull.

I think Cap one will too.

It is better for your AoAA to app over time if you already have accounts. It is better to app all at once if you have 0 credit.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k

Doesn't matter. The HP's generally show up immediately. The only thing you'd avoid by apping same day is having the other impact(s) from new accounts reporting (e.g. AAoA reduction).

That's a bit oversimplified. With a strong enough AAoA there may be a reduced or negligible benefit to spreading them out.
