International Credit Card options

Postby IntCRUSA » Wed Jun 11, 2014 7:02 pm

Hey guys new to the forum looking for some advice.

Ok so I'm trying to decide the best way to organize myself for future payments and spending.

I work in Costa Rica and I visit the United States for family every 3 months. I will be spending at least $3000/mth on student loans. Everything I earn is in Costa Rica Colones.

Im big on AA miles and restaurants in Costa Rica provide 50% discounts for AMEX. So I'm thinking a Citi Bank AAdvantage Card (To pay off loans because they only accept MC/VISA and to avoid FOREX fees) and a Credomatic (Costa Rica bank) AMEX AAdvantage card for local Costa Rica purchases.

For reference: If you guys read Spanish (http://www.credomatic.com/costarica/esp/credo/tarjetas/aadvantage.html)

Credit Score USA 750 and will probably hit 6 figures this year in dollars.

Thanks in advance!

Restaurants in Costa Rica provide a 50% discount for AMEX card users? Really?

ncosky - Seeing as how you are from Pittsburgh (GO PENS!), and I live about 2 hours away, we should do lunch in Costa Rica someday if this is true! HA!

Is IntCRUSA coming back? I'm looking at vacation options and that 50% would put Costa Rica near the top...
