I was actually going to ask the same thing. Now with my new car im looking for cheaper insurance. I have allstate right now but its just going to be too expensive for me now. Do you guys think it would be cheaper to put my girlfriend on my insurance also? Shes over 21 with no recent accidents. Im 20 with one accident thats going to be 3 years old in April. Also is it ok to have insurance now and cancel it in May and either renew with the same company or switch companies being that I will be 21 and my accident will have aged off. Is this possible or not?
After three years is up call your current company and have them review your policy. You probably won't have to cancel and renew with the same company. If you shop around to other places you can easily cancel with your existing company and get a rebate from them for the unused time you have paid for. You might also consider shopping for quotes and if you find a better deal be honest with your current company and ask for a price match if you are happy with the service they provide.

Oh.. That would be Allstate and they already said that it renews every 6 months and they only review it at that time, not periods in between.
