Default Are there any home theater/hifi audio enthusiasts here?

I thought I'd see if there were any people in here who are into big time home theater/high end stereo stuff. I have spent years putting mine together one piece at a time. I'd like to read about/see pics perhaps of other audio enthusiasts set ups.

The tough thing about being into this stuff is that there's always a higher level of stuff you can't afford. I'll never have Wilson Audio speakers because I don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to drop on them, but my home theater system is now more than sufficient.

I've been into home theater for a number of years ever since i bought my first HTIB! Back then component video was the thing. I've since gone a different route and got into HTPC's. My HTPC's serve as front ends to my entire media library, I have a video of my old setup here.

Since my HTIB I haven't pieced out a stereo systems due to my current living arrangements, once I get my own house I'll dive back into that. For now I focus on my HTPC server and building my HTPC Client PC's. I've got a 6TB Raid server where i store all my music/photos/movie backups and working on getting an HDHomerun Prime to watch live TV. For my clients I'm going with those small bookshelf computers, with the right chipset they can stream 1080p without any hiccups.

Since that video was taken I've moved away from that software and primarily use Windows Media Center.

I have been audiophile for a few years now. I have pieced my system all together one component at at a time.

I am happy now with what I have. I will try to get some pictures later, but right now my front stage is comprised of (2) Jamo C809's and a center Jamo C80. Behind me are (2) Jamo C603's. I have an Epik Empire for bass (she is a beast!). I run all this through a Pioneer Elite SC-35 and display on my Samsung PN59D6500 59". Bluerays through the PS3 and SACD's through the Oppo DV-980H. I have a second zone set up in the kitchen for the wife with a pair of Jamo E700's. Then the cherry to top it off is a Harmony remote. It is a must with a lot of equipment. I have the 650 but any Harmony remote will do.

Like you said, there is always something more expensive, newer, higher rated. It could be a rabbit hole you never reach the bottom of. But the trick is to find something you like, and stay with it. No reason to "keep up with the Jones"

Some nice systems, everyone! My current set up, and a picture in attachment. Denon AVR1910, Phase Tech Velocity speakers and sub. Sharp Aquos 65inch LCD, which I bought a few years ago, so it's probably outdated already.

Yes- I have been into stereos... There's nothing like good sound. I have owned/built more than two dozen pairs of mid-fi speakers in the past 20 years: vandersteen, dynaudio, MLogan, b&w, magnepan, etc... I love to swap! I have settled for a pair of psbs and a pair of regas 2-3 years ago. I do not care for surround sound though.
