Thank you. I'm in the lower region of New York state all I lost was electricity for 19 hours. my office still does not have power
just a generator so the lights went on I think it was Thursday at 8:07 am.
in Bergen county down in paramus about a 15 to 25 minute ride depending upon which place you go to has no power.
Halloween night the Container store , crate and barel, Pier 1 imports, the Fire place, Barnes and nobles were all closed.
Gas stations are on a shortage some places ran out. sunday November the third in New Jersey are only having plates ending on a odd number or vanity plates were suppose to get gas.
But thanks for stopping buy and the thoughts.
I'm on Long Island and we where very lucky. We lost power a couple of days and my daughter lost her swing set and a small shed in the back look like it exploded. Other than that, we where very lucky.

I live right outside of Atlantic City, which had extensive flooding and storm damage, but thankfully my town wasn't hit too hard. Somehow my power stayed on the whole time, although one of the hospitals I work at in the city got flooded and the emergency care had to be moved upstairs.
Money card, I heard from some friends up in north Jersey about the gas shortages up there tooo and that's crazy! Best of luck to you with that.

Nothing to report up here in Boston. However I did like the fact that every credit card I have sent me emails with offers to help and to wave certain fees due to the weather. I've never heard of that before.

I got a bunch of those emails too. I think they want to hear from affected customers before they rebuild and possibly take on too much debt so that the creditors can lower the credit lines proactively. The banks care only about their bottom lines.

I'm a Firefighter/EMT on the shore. We got hammered. It got to the point where I was running dispatch (taking a break after multiple structure fires and 7 straight hours of being on the truck for run after run) and sending front end loaders to rescue people because they were stubborn and stayed and the water was about 8 ft deep at that point. The water was spilling into the cab on the loaders. People would get in the bucket and get slowly driven to safety. Power was out for a while, we just got internet back after a week.

Power is still out in parts of NY and NJ.

kcarter, thank you for your service, and risking you life to save stupid people.
I live in northern NJ and we got power back after a week without it. The worst part is the tree that took down the lines is still there!! That means we were without power for no reason (besides the fact that it is quite dangerous). Gas lines have been even worse. I sat for 30 min in one line and moved 60 feet. The rationing is helping a lot and lines are down to about a 20 min wait.
People here are complaining about how bad it is. I want to remind them what Irene did to Upstate NY and VT last year, and then send them to the shore. people will bitch about anything.
