Ill start. My current fave in my collection is my breitling emergency.

I have had this Tag-Heur since 1994 cost me $450 new don't think it's worth that much any more!

I'm a big watch fan as well.

Nice pieces guys. I like the rolex, when I bought my breitling It was a toss up between the rolex sub, the breitling, or the omega (james bond one) lol. I ended up getting the breitling cuz Im a pilot so the emergency beacon may come in handy one day.

Craigm1, load your pic on an online server...mine is on FB. Copy the URL, and then you can see at the top of your reply box there is a little picture...it says "insert image" when you scroll over it. Just click that, paste your URL, and preview your picture.

If you look at the bottom of the watch there is a cap that you can twist out and it exposes a wire. The wire is a few feet long and transmits the emergency signal on 121.5 (international emergency radio frequency) with a emergency siren sound. The beacon has a range of 120nautical miles and will last for up to 48 hours. Its basically the same as a black box in a airplane...but i figure i fly over the ocean all the time...the plane would be at the bottom and i would be floating at the top lol. If its a genuine rescue, breitling will replace your watch for free...if its pulled out by a drunk friend at a party, its like a $10-30k fine or something...i dont recall the exact amount but its a big federal offense if you falsify a distress call. My model is a few years old, the newer ones have a secondary beacon at the top as well as a digital timer.

Isnt this watch discontinued due to a change in the frequency used for emergency transmissions? This is what I was told....
