Default Mint.com Finance Manager Review: What's The Catch?

I saw another post here Using Cash vs Credit Cards where Ramzo mentioned http://www.mint.com

I checked out their website and it sounds pretty awesome. I wanted to ask if any of you here use it currently and what your thoughts are on it? My biggest concern would be security - having all your login credentials in one spot seems like a hackers wet dream (see last lastpass hack LastPass CEO Explains Possible Hack | PCWorld)

From looking at it quickly ~ my own thoughts are, I can track my recent spending just fine and I am hardly the type to splurge. However, if this tracks ongoing history it would be nice to see at the end of the year (and previous years) how all those credit card purchases on different cards add up, how much cash was withdrawn for various things and just how much I spent on my car!!! (currently hates his car) Other thoughts are, why is this free (yes I read their site)? Are they selling this personal information as "anonymous"?

Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this. Thanks!

I have been using mint.com for a few weeks and so far I like it.

It was taken over by Intuit, so there's a pretty well-known company behind it.

They make money by recommending products to save users money. It was a little annoying to see all the "recommendations" when I started but I found I could remove most of them.

You could try it with just one bank account and if you don't like it you can change your login to something mint.com won't have, but as I said I tried it and I plan on keeping it.

I use mint, it's legit, and actually very useful, I would suggest it if you like to track where your money goes, and see where you can cut down.

I utilize Mint, and have for a while. I love it, as it combines everything from credit cards, banks, investment accounts and tells me where it is all going; and I don't have to spend an hour hearing it from a financial advisor. I can pull it up on my phone as well, and check to see that I am in budget on certain items.

If you are using it on a smart phone, be sure to activate the locking system with the drawing gesture so that it's harder to access should you lose the phone.

After using it for a while, I still like it.

The only issues I have are that occasionally it can't login to an account and it times out after 10 minutes of inactivity. If I start it up to update the accounts then step away, I sometimes need to login again when I return.

The mobile application is nice too.
BofA Cash Rewards: 3% rewards on gas, 2% on groceries ($1500 quarterly cap).
Chase Freedom: 5% rewards in various rotating categories ($1500 quarterly cap).
Discover Open Road: 2% rewards on restaurants ($250 monthly cap).
Fidelity Investment Rewards Amex and Visa Signature: 2% and 1.5% cash back everywhere (no cap).
