I only carry small amounts of cash to spend on parking structures that does not accept cards.
I only carry small amount because I spend more and MORE and MORE if I know I have cash in my wallet.

I carry $50-150 in cash (including plenty of ones and fives for tips), two CCs (Fidelity Amex and Chase Freedom Visa), Chase ATM (not a debit) card for bank deposits, debit card for Fidelity cash mgmt. account that never has more than $150 in it (all ATM fees are reimbursed on this card, btw).
Credit first, then debit, then cash. I almost NEVER use the debit card or cash (other than for tips). I will not carry a debit card linked to my main account for security reasons. I can't remember the last time I took cash from an ATM.
CARDS (and why)
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (best cash back excepting 5% cards), Fidelity Visa (spare)
Chase: Freedom (only for 5% reward categories, purchases under $10), Sapphire (not in use), Amazon Rewards (for Amazon purchases only)
CapitalOne: No Hassle Rewards (no foreign transaction fee, my only MasterCard, not in use)
Amex: Blue Cash Everyday (not in use)
Discover: More (only for 5% reward categories)
I carry a little cash for those places that don't take plastic; laundry and dry cleaners. Plastic rules!
I never use cash. My wallet typically has <$5 in it, more often than not $0.
I see no incentive to have to carry and handle cash, when 99.9% of places I go take credit.
I use cash sometimes, I like to have $20 in my wallet but 85% of the times I am using cards. There are a lot of stores here in Australia that impose minimum spend to use credit cards due to the merchant fees that are charged. But I normally don't go into cash only places, I use my cards a lot.

I'm pretty terrible with carrying cash... I never carry it and sometimes I need it for situations like tipping. I probably should and will start carrying 100$ or so. But, right now I use my credit cards for everything because I'd rather save .01 on the dollar than pay full price anyway.
I always keep a money clip with a variety of bills. I always have at least 10 ones, 2 fives, and a twenty. There are always situations that require cash. Have you ever been somewhere for something small and oops, the reader is declining your card. Oh shoot, the machine seems to be out of service now. Ever need a cab? They don't always take credit cards. Tipping for valets and hotels is always cash. And there are times you just need to throw down some bills so you can pay for your drink. I never open a tab. While some people might be impressed with the plastic you carry, I find that a wad of cash in a money clip usually always gets someone's attention, especially if it is loaded with large bills.

I wouldn't ever suggest that anybody should ever carry 100$ anymore.I n the old days before ATM machines before fast food restaurants, movies, and bagel shops took credit cards, then that was a different story. But now a days I would suggest in your area bringing 60 dollars cash and all credit cards.
So AshleyAMX if you go to your local mall and you want to get a burger king, McDonalds or Kentucky fried chicken and let's say for example your bill is about 7.00 to 9.00 would you pay cash, debit or use 1 of your credit cards?
if you were going to the movies and let's say it cost about 10.00 in your area would you pay cash, debit or use 1 of your credit cards?
When I go to a restaurant if I'm using a credit card and I leave the tip in cash.
