Default Why I dislike Google Wallet - security concerns!

I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with Google's recently announced mobile wallet but it is something I am extremely skeptical of.

Google Wallet - how it works

This past week I watched an hour long special on CNBC about computer security and a portion of it was all about security, or lack thereof, with cell phones and tablets. The transmissions can be easily hacked. They did a demonstration in Times Square where to guys using nothing more than a laptop, a $50 antenna, and free software were able to intercept and hack into Gmail accounts.

As if that wasn't scary enough, they talked about how there are dangerous trojans that ciphon off login data on financial websites. Even if you take all the security precautions on your end, to install all someone has to do is get physical possession of your phone. Think of the possibilities when you hand your phone with Google Wallet off to a random waiter to go out of sight to ring you up? Not to mention, the dangers of mixing up your phone with others, dropping it, spilled something on it and the list goes on.

And perhaps the biggest reason- I don't think anyone would associate the word "reliability" with "cell phone." Your wallet needs to be reliable and phones are far from that.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

As a certified gadget freak .............. my phone stays on me lol.

Too many electrons moving around for me to trust them. I try not to login using the iphone apps either (even though I have them installed, Chase, ING, AMEX, etc)

Google is monopolizing everything these days. And why is it when I search they give preference to their other companies without identifying them as such. They should be required to clearly identify Youtube and the others as ads instead of mixing them in with the natural results. I find they have gotten quite deceiving over the past 2 or 3 years with their search results, the last thing I would do is trust them with my credit cards.
